Day+15

Going up.

So, all set to leave here I think.  My neutrophil count has jumped from 0.97/L to 1.51/L so I’m over the threshold comfortable.  The only thing I can see still way down on the counts are my platelets, still down at 21/L instead of 186/L that I registered before the high dose chemo began.  Hope that’s not too much of a worry, because everything else is rocketing up…

So I’m just waiting, and hours are passing.  We are trying to find a doctor to sign the discharge papers but they are hard to pin down.  Of course I’ve emphasised the 5 hour train journey ahead and the wish to avoid rush hour if possible, but it won’t speed up the machine here… Sit and be patient.

Meanwhile, there is heavy and relentless building work going on outside my window and its noisy despite the double glazing.  I’m very happy not to have been in this room for the last three weeks!

More later…
